I love how Reagan's slippery slope prediction is used, I guess, as an example of why his argument is still valid. Ironically, it's actually really good evidence for why he's wrong: none of what he predicts here became reality under Medicare... but oh well.
In 1961 a paid actor did the bidding of the American Medical Association's opposition to Medicare. It was the contrived prophecy of doom that never happened. "Operation Coffee Cup" was an utter failure and relegated to the dust bin of history.
