  • Do you get any guests @ the shelter with autism? Are there any special accommodations you have in place to deal with the sensory issues that individuals will face? It's something that I think about having sensory processing disorder along with Asperger's and knowing you have kids staying there. I am so glad I have my mother to still look out for me. If I could, I would volunteer @ the shelter. My ears prevent this & so much more. Glad PADS has a permanent home.

  • I do not know of Pads guests to the shelter with autism as I am not there very often. The Pads organization has a range of volunteers that I am sure can help with autistic guests. Volunteers are so important to an organization like this. They have a separate room setup for families/children at the shelter. Thank you for your comment, I will pass on to others at Pads.

  • @princessjean7855 MY views are well expanded, thank you very much. But as the video is showing PADS and not Disneyworld, I kept on topic. So what's your problem....Guilt by assocoation ?

  • Yes, as long as their backgrounds are checked. Such places are a REAL home for pediphiles and other abusive people that the world chooses not to see. Abuse is rampant in such places, behind closed doors. You don't know what really goes on and theose sent there can't tell you.

  • @greatlakesit Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, as with mental illness, there will probably be adults on the spectrum staying with an autism spectrum disorder including Asperger's as well as children (as awareness spreads and more are diagnosed) who will need special accommodations to handle sensory issues and effective communication and appropriateness when being in close confines with men, women and kids. I appreciate you spreading the message of autism awareness.
