i've always wanted sand in my aquarium. how do u clean sand/fine gravel? is it the same as cleaning regular gravel substrate? i.e. gravel vac where the poop and other sediment gets suctioned and the gravel remains? thanks in advance.

I clean it like gravel. Bend the hose to keep the suction weaker or the sand will get sucked away.
Most crap will stay on top of the sand.

What a beautiful tank! We would love to have a calvus or two, but they are very hard to come by! You are very fortunate! :) Could you tell me what you use for gravel?
