David Cronenberg said he wasn't too thrilled with the "hardcore" ad campaign used to sell it, but he had to admit it worked. Opened in the US at #1, I think a first for a Canadian film. After that Hollywood really took notice of him. While the script had to be crafted in a hurry when it got greenlight in like 2 weeks, and given what a brutal shoot it was, its perhaps surprising it holds up as well as it does. And Canadian cinema had one iconic image with the head explosion we can proud of!

I think another highlight of Canadian cinema was the sex club orgy scene in the 1983 film Joy! He he.
You just might get a private vid of that one too.......
