US Airways Express CRJ-200 (N246PS) lands in Newport News, VA (PHF) on runway 25 as Blue Streak 485 from Charlotte, NC (CLT). The pilots dealt with a fair amount of wind on the way in, but landed pretty smoothly. Taken from 9F in March 2009. Watch in high quality.

  • Nice! I noticed the snow on the ground. Weird in March. Short runway airn't it! I also have recorded a landing at newport news.

  • Not really; 7/25 is right at 8,000'. In comparison, 3 of ATL's runways are 9,000'.

  • Awww. The rj shadow looks so cute

  • @Pilot51081 8,000' of runway really isn't short for most aircraft on landing, especially not a 737. Stopping as fast as possible is not the only consideration. Landing on 25 is kind of convenient as the terminal is close to the end of the runway, so it makes a lot of sense to go easy on the brakes and reverse and roll to the end (shorter taxi, easier on the airplane, off the runway as fast or quicker)

  • That can be short for a 737. But now that you mention it, I don't know why a CRJ would have trouble rolling out on that runway, even if it did land a little late. It probably was landing fast.
