Ford's quality control seems to be hit and miss again. This should be Ford's next big recall. This fuel pump driver module has been causing a lot of headaches for mechanics and consumers alike. This part rusts at an incredible rate and is going to lead to safety problems. It is so common that aftermarket parts companies have started making them to meet demand - Totally ridiculous. Another example of NHTSA's blind eye policy for domestic brands. Carquestions recommends filing a complaint with NHTSA and posting comments to Ray LaHood's Facebook page.

  • woot!

  • @diehardghost yeah i know . No wonder they went bankrupt.

  • @trinoma88 thats some really low quality .

  • really poor quality.

  • Nice job as usual, Mark. No reason for that. Engineering 101.

  • To put dissimilar metals in direct contact and exposed to water is a major engineering goof. I can see why they don't recall it, since it's not likely to be a cause of liability by way of causing death. And it may take long enough for this damage to happen that most vehicles have outlasted their warranty. There are some situations where dealers will recognize this kind of problem and fix it for free, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

  • @killman1971 Ecotec you say? Thats interesting - hadn't heard much about that.
