Coach and Author Anthony Venn-Brown speaks on Australia's national breakfast show, Channel 7's Sunrise about being gay but in a heterosexual marriage.
For many of us, being gay, lesbian or bisexual in a heterosexual marriage was not a choice of intentional deception. Our marriages were the result of the pressure to conform. Some of us grew up in a society where homosexuality was considered a perversion or psychological illness. When we married, we did so believing it was the right thing to do and expecting it would change what we perceived was faulty within us. Was the current knowledge on sexual orientation available to us then, our choices would have been different.
its a serious shame that a gay person would marry a woman! y do that? its only gonna hurt people eventually. u cant wear the homosexuality out through marraige. in fact it would make things a lot worse!

"Coming up... At 8:30, an in-depth interview. What is it like to be gay and married to someone of the opposite sex? Then at 8:32..." ;) That aside, you portrayed the image of the trapped (for want of a better word) party sympathetically... I was pleased to see the lady you interviewed with quickly responding to the question of giving advice to gay people in this situation, that honesty is key. Her perspective on how free and easy and accepting the world is of gay people is a little naive.
