when its higher is actually supposed to sound better and can be easier to bend depending on your setup

that really doesn't matter much at all, the metal adds to the sound and the gauge adds to playability, and you can't tell what gauge they are by looking at this distance, I've seen strings that looked like 9's or 10's and someone said they were 13's...
