www.ntv.co.ke Residents of Githogoro slum are racing against time to beat 72 hour deadline given by the government to vacate the area. Githogoro, which neighbours Runda, is in the middle of the proposed route of the northern bypass. And a Robert Nagila reports the demolition of hundreds of luxury homes in Runda could be next if the government makes good its threat and moves in the bulldozers this coming week.

  • They have to have somewhere to drive their cars (less than 1800cc, mind you) who cares about the people!

  • the great government of kenya

  • The sad thing about this is that these people have been given 72hrs to vacate while it may take 5-10years just to complete the road. What a shame

  • I feel for the people who lived in those houses. The government should stop playing with peoples' lives. You don't take that long to tell people that they are living on govt land. Though at least this time they gave the people time to vacate instead of just destroying everything.

  • and why havent they told the neighbouring houses right next to the by pass to move

  • jeez if they di that to kibera where do u want the people to go????ama u have a place u wonna take them
