BJFE Sampler - Identical settings, identical riffs

Apples to apples, side by side demo of five BJFE overdrive/distortion pedals with all knobs at noon unless otherwise noted. Emerald Green Distortion Machine, Model H, Dyna Red Distortion, Honey Bee Overdrive, and Sparkling Yellow Overdrive.

Amp and guitar settings were the same for each clip. Gibson Les Paul R9 into a Budda Superdrive.


I used the same riff for each clip, so that you can get a comparison for each with the same reference, and basically the same knob settings (12:00) for each pedal. The Model H did have its tone turned up a bit- at noon it was just too dark for my setup.

I cant get over how different your set up sounds to mine. I run somewhat similar pedal settings. But, this is a fantastic reference!

@thesjkexperience Yeah, I recently changed amps and had to re-acquaint myself... depends heavily on the speaker, esp for the MH and EGDM. The MH opened up with my Mesa Electradyne, was dark with the Budda.
