Is it voice activated/deactivated? If it's headed for a spot that shouldn't be vacuumed it should respond to "Cocorobo No!", then back off and sulk at its charging bay.

all current vacuum cleaners from all manufacturer are stupid. The need to install a kinnect like sensor into them so that they can detect the room in detail and then allow the home owner to update/modify/manipulate the "room definition" on thier computer/device to specify how to clean that room better, and allow the human to help define the limits and best way to vacuum the room.
