Mr. Tambourine Man

Few songs have ever appeared twice on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. "Mr. Tambourine Man" written by Bob Dylan, appeared as #79 on this list as performed by The Byrds and as #106 as sung by Dylan himself. I have always liked the Dylan version best because of its grit and authenticity. There are as many theories of what (or who) this song is really about as there are versions (my fave being the William Shatner talked through cover.) One guess is that Dylan was referring to Bruce Longhorn, a Greenwich Village guitarist that used to carry a giant Turkish tambourine-like frame drum when he performed. Longhorn is the playing the electric guitar on Dylan's album version of this song so this theory is a fair guess. Anyhow, this is the BluezGeek version. Hope you dig it.
