mine is hacked wii so basically i can run any software inside the wii though plan to have some special wii channel in the wii but then take up a lot of space in the wii ..

It the same just like the us wii. It just only plays Japanese games, and connects to the japanese server.

Will the wii shop channel work on the japanese Wii? Because I'm thinking about buying one and people told me it won't work.

Yes if you can connect to the internet. You can access the Japanese server. You just need a good connect if you want fast speed. The only thing that will not work is the food ordering channel.
