you guys have some good points...BUT you are forgetting several key points...yes the Catholic church ruined the native heritage...the people in power of the church....not the christians. when they took the children they lost they parenting skills...this isthe main problem of todays natives(not thier fault) they don't know how to be responsible parents...this should be changed. its a cycle...no respect, no honour.. natives need to be given parenting skills in school then checked constantly.

Harper apologized for taking Native children away from their parents and putting them in residential schools. It's still happening! And not just to Natives! People - wake up!
All it takes is one anonymous phone call from some nasty, jealous person, and your children are gone forever to a foster "home." The heartache of for parents and children is unimaginable. Don't let the Ministry into your home without a warrant. Video record everything.

My apologies. It was not intended to offend anyone but to make a point that we live in a free country but the way child services treats parents and children does not reflect that.

The number of aboriginal children in foster care went up when residential schools closed which is no suprise. What is a suprise is that citizens of BC and all of Canada are so blind to what the government is doing. I agree with you: never let the ministry in to your home unless they have a warrant. We need to protect our rights.
