Star tunnel intro to the March 3, 1985 ABC Sunday Night Movie featuring the two-hour series premiere of "Moonlighting". This opening features Mason Adams doing the voice over. From WABC, New York
I watched Moonlighting with my mom. I was about nine at the time, probably didn't understand half the sexual tension jokes, but thought David Addison was the coolest guy around and Maddie was hot. We both lost interest after a few years, but for awhile it was a mother/son bonding experience. The only show I can really compare it to now is "Castle".
it was like the end of everything good. My 8th grade year was a blast, but when MOONLIGHTING ended, I realized that good times don't always last. Sure, I was sad that it ended the way it did, and it was hard to watch next week w/ something else that replaced its time slot. The show had me grow up and tell me that I had to move on for bigger and better things. What a ride. If there was a moment in time I could relive again growing up then it'd be that time when MOONLIGHTING was part of my life.
ship would seem to go on a whirlwind. It's like their romance was there and then it's gone. And just when things were gonna get good between the two of them, I experienced my first heartache when Sam opened the door of Maddie's house when David wanted more (thus beginning my dislike of actor Mark Harmon). MOONLIGHTING had became part of my growing up and realizing you don't always get what you want in life; I didn't get the girl, I couldn't play any sports (which was a total bummer during those
I had went through a big transition; from grade school: making good friends, recess, cartoons, and fun to the world of middle (junior high) school: toughness, competition, girls, and of course, MOONLIGHTING. That's when I began to actually sit down and watch this show. I remember watching these two, Maddie Hayes and David Addison, and the complexity of their relationship w/ one another. That's when I noticed Maddie and thinking how incredibly sexy she looked! And w/ each episode their relation-
Let's see. March, 1985. I was 9 years old, going on 10 that coming summer. I remember when this was aired that night, and it was almost a tradition to watch THE ABC SUNDAY NIGHT MOVIE w/ the family. Of course, I wasn't in to this show. I mean, I was in the 4th grade and watching G. I. JOE, THE TRANSFORMERS, and THUNDERCATS. And even when it became a TV series I still wasn't interested. However, the fall of 1986 was the start of my 6th grade year during my middle (or junior high) school years.
I remember this. It aired on 3/3/1985 which was my 21st birthday

Sure, it wasn't pleasant, but it was an experience that I wouldn't mind reliving again.
