Are we getting there? When I was a kid in the early 70's... it seemed like it was the kick off point for a golden age of understanding & reason. What we got was 40 years of hate, self-interest & a pig-headed unwillingness to be listen to reason! I hope we are getting there as you say... but I think it is going to be alot harder than we thought!

Your right there Bro! I Guess we haven't truly failed 'til we've stopped trying, & your right about the kids too. I'd have given up for 'me' years ago... but the young-ones deserve a fighting chance! (We should at least fix the stuff we broke!) Peace Dude!

Yeah, I recently saw an old campaign ad of his circa 1980. "Some say we have to conserve and make sacrifices--but we Americans deserve only the best. It's morning in America." (Paraphrased except for the last sentence.) There already was a lot of materialism, but I recall it getting a lot worse in the '80s.
