Super Metroid Golden Dawn Segment 5 Part I

A "rough speed run" of Golden Dawn (which is a hack of Super Metroid) made by Black Telomeres aka Bloody Excerment. The speed run will consist of six segments. The game is played relatively quickly and not using anything tool assisted. Edited and uploaded by Volus X.

@Tiniuc which i guess is kind of funny, considering redesign's level design is fairly mediocre as well. granted, a lot better than this, but still nowhere near as good as something like Eris.

@Erghest It plays like ass too. There are so many invisible and hidden walls that honestly, without watching these videos, you're likely to spend many, many *hours* just wandering around, trying to figure out what to do. The fact the author doesn't let you have the x-ray scope made me suspicious, so I used a cheat to give it to myself, and the map is uglier when using the scope - there are a lot of blank tiles, mis-placed block types, etc. everywhere. Redesign is much better than this hack.

i have this hack but after it says the last metroid is in captivity, the galaxy is at peace, it plays the music then nothing. the music continues and nothing happens, i tried redoing the patch but nothing

Yes, an emulator is needed. I prefer SNES 9X Version 1.43 Improvement 9 or Version 1.51. And you can play on a keyboard, but if for you have a hard time, find a USB controller, as long as it has four right-hand buttons and two shoulder buttons.

To add to Volus's post, you will also need a JU Rom to patch it, as most hacks come in the form of IPS patches. If you use ZSNES, there is no need to patch the game, as you can soft-patch it, from what I've heard.

Yes, you will have to use an emulator to play this rom hack. You can either use ZSNES or Snes9x. You can Google either one to find the website and download it yourself. You DO NOT need a game controller to play, you can use keyboard if you like. I personally use keyboard and would advise many others to do the same..much more comfortable this way.

ok. questions: Do you use an emulator to play the game? In that case, could you give me a link to that emulator? :) Do you need some kind of game-controller plugged in to be able to play?
