Tribute to Notre Dame's Ara Parseghian by Packers' Clements

On Monday, July 16, 2007, the Milwaukee chapter of the University of Notre Dame Alumni Club hosted its 7th annual golf outing and dinner benefiting the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation. The head Notre Dame football coach from 1964-74, Parseghian led his teams to the consensus national championship in both 1966 and 1973. At the Milwaukee event, about a dozen former Notre Dame football players participated in raising about $25,000 for the APMRF's work to find a cure for Niemann Pick-C, a terminal disease that claimed the lives of three of Ara's grandchildren. More than 94 percent of all money raised by the APMRF goes directly to research into a cure for NP-C.

Ara had 3 national titles,2 in the wire service polls in 66 and 73 and the Mac Arthur bowl from the National Football Foundation in 1964!

Clements should have been selected as ND head football coach instead of Charlie Weis.

Tom Clements is currently a fabulous quarterback coach-- who helped Brett Favre bounce back last year as well as other teams such as the Steelers and of course, coached with Lou Holtz.

Tom Clements had a great career in the CFL and is still a big hero in Ottawa where he won the 76 Grey CUP in the dying seconds with his touchdown pass to Tony Gabriel. It is considered the Canadian version of "the catch". he was a great player up here and hall of famer.
