Downie had no where to go and nothing else to do but plow into him, the hit on St. Louis (marty) was uncalled for because you don't do that to a honest player like st. louis. never fights or cheats.

Downie didn't leave his feet.. His right foot was on the ice at the moment of impact.. The still-frame made the commentator sound stupid..

Now the MacArthur hit should have been a boarding penalty..Throwing a 5"6' lil' man into the boards with the back of his head isn't that "clean" either..

this is so dumb. downie runs somebody with a good solid check, and when somebody checks their team back, they go to jump him. you give hits, you take hits. dont have to fight over that.

This, I can understand Downie doing. Downie may have gotten a lot of PIMs, but he stood up for his star linemate in St. Louis.

As for head up, St. Louis is one of the 3 shortest players in the NHL (only Brian Gionta and Nathan Gerbe are shorter).
