During our weekend trip to Grindelwald, Switzerland, in April 2007, we were staying at the hotel Jungfrau Lodge in Grindelwald. We had a comfortable double room, overlooking the breathtaking mountain scenery of the Bernese Oberland including the spectacular Eiger north face (Eigernordwand, "Eiger Wall"), one of the six great north faces of the Alps, towering over 1800 m (5900 ft) above the valley. Hardly believable that the Jungfrau Railway - a pioneer of all mountain railways - has a 7 kilometres / 4 miles tunnel through the Eiger rock, with its terminus on the Jungfraujoch at 3454 m / 11333 ft, Europe's highest altitude railway station!

  • Great video, wrong locaton, it's MURREN

  • Sorry to correct you QF330300 - the hotel Jungfrau Lodge ist definitely in Grindelwald and not in Mürren. Mürren is located in the opposite valley... but I guess it's also a beautiful place with a nice view on the Jungfrau.

  • Wow. That's quite a view. I'd love to go to this region, but is it really $160 per person for the ride up to Jungfraujoch.

  • I tell you that it's worth every single penny of it - if you are going on a sunny day. And the train ride within the Eiger North Face is just stunning... something which you won't forget any more.

  • trust me, it is sooo worth it. i got a discount off it, cause we had these travell passes, which when you write a date on it, it makes your travell free, but when it not dated, you get discounts, sadly you cant have free rides to the mountain. but we got a discount. it is truley worth it though, the views are outstanding, most amazing experience of my life.
