I hope the sound is better on this one! I didn't have to put it through my crappy software in order to cut out any of the scenes (at least I hope I'm not forgetting any that cant be posted). Just wanted to share another of my faves from Penn and Teller :)

  • Great episode! Really interesting. I have a philosophical question: What's wrong with believing in bullshit if the outcome is good? If a pill makes someone feel better, does it really matter whether it's a placebo or not?

  • @Chiren Well the problem isnt with the taking it, the moral problem is, as far as Im concerned, with making huge profits by selling something pretending its something else. Also if you have something that can be cured by a placebo thats great, but when people go for placebos to treat serious illnesses they might suffer or die needlessly, which is what makes some "placebos" outright dangerous and people who sell them incredibly immoral

  • @CrystalEye736 do you call yourself crystaleye736 because u have a glass eye, if not, then thats BULLSHIT.......im sorry.

  • @donmarco510 yes, I have 736 crystal eyes. booyah!

  • Definitely one of my favorite episodes, along with Recycling, Cheerleaders, Stranger Danger, and Mt. Rushmore.

  • @cyanmanta I wanted to post the cheerleaders one, but I have to get around all of the naked tits in it and its complicated :)

  • @Chiren No! Believing bullshit is always bad. First continuing to believe it after you *know* that it's bullshit is impossible, and having a policy of not finding out means that you deprive yourself of knowledge and technology which is known to be beneficial. The occasional broken placebo effect is FAR outweighed by the beneficial effects of the ability to see the true consequences of your decisions and be in control of more of life.

  • @Darkapprentice71 well no he wouldnt say RIP because he isnt resting, just dead but I miss him all the same.

  • @Chiren god doesnt exist

  • Clay Aiken...?

    CLAY FUCKING AIKEN?!

  • *sniffle* I forgot Hitch was in this one. I miss him!!! Is anyone pissed that crackhead Whitney Houston's drug addled final bath got more attention than hitchens truly tragic death? I know I am.
