@xgianpatrick So, it "appeals" to you, then?

Absolutely Beautiful!! It is also wonderful to be able to rehearse with and make sure I get everything right since we are doing this piece for Midnight Mass this year. The violins make it much easier for me to be able to do my counting. I am a site reader learning how to read my notes. I love music it is my passion, also a gift from God so I sing for HIM!

@clashtitans2 I disagree. In the case of a Bach cantata, the goal is not IMHO to appeal to an audience but to glorify God, or more generally (for an agnostic such as myself) to invoke a sense of wonder, awe, reflection, grace. "Appeal" is a dangerous word, and the pursuit of audience appeal can be very misleading. The search for authenticity, however, has done Bach's music great service in the past decades, bringing it new vigor and fresh air, as this video demonstrates so beautifully.

In case anybody was interested, Bach was a composer at a church, and likely wrote this in a couple of days to be played at the week's mass. He wrote hundreds of these things.
