boost is limited in 1st, 2nd and 3rd... to reduce wheelspin and torque steer... all remaining gears are set to run at 14.7psi... per mazda.
Without this limiter on stock MS3 they would be over a half (.5) a second faster... Car and Driver tested this car with a full tank of gas and ran a 13.8, without the limiter on stock boost they probably would have ran 13.1 to 13.3, MS3 FTW lol

motor oil type has more of an effect on engine wear than 5 or even 10psi more boost

Impossible since boost is limited in first, second and some say third gear by the ECU. This car tends to spike at 20 and level out around 14 or 15. It's designed to run at 15.6 psi.
Also, with regard to the comment below, boost controllers do not make it wear any differently. Running 20 psi (constant,) on a vehicle designed for 15 does.

you must have a leak somewhere cause i get 15 psi in every gear with stock boost

boost controllers make your engine wear considerably faster??? right?

I can't see for sure, but did turning off the boost controller give more boost at high revs? What else did you have to do to make that work well?

no, with the boost controller it pulls harder than stock and all I have is injen cai, test pipe custom, turboxs hybrid blow off

Which controller did you get? Looks like it pulls a lot harder at high revsthan stock.

it does and it's actually a non name brand we made it out of a twist top valve from napa and some hose. It works perfect though
