its great doing a tutorial nice and slow but you are being a bit too slow. it would be cooler if you could talk a bit faster :)

well its not that hard to just use filters in post either. Try applying the filters RGB Balance, Gamma Corrector, and Brightness and Contrast. There are also others such as proc amp but that shouldn't be needed often. Oh yeah, color corrector works well too.
