This is the song from the original broadway production (and what a beautiful song it is) telling Ariel, Eric, Sebastian and King Triton's feelings. I hope it's easy to understand, but if not... here's the explanation.
The Grey bits are memories, the brighter bits are their dreams (as in hopes for the future)
It starts off with Ariel's day-dreaming of what she's been through, trying to get his attention while they are on an awkard boat ride, due to the fact Ariel can't speak. Eric is also thinking about Ariel, and the voice of the girl who saved him (who happens to be Ariel). Eric likes Ariel but feels as if he's betraying the girl he's fallen in love with. Ariel and Eric moan to himselves about their feelings, and later that night, Eric dicides he should give up with the voice, since he's perfectly happy with Ariel. Ariel goes to bed hopefully for the next day. Sebtasian sees Ariel and tells her how she much prepare for tomorrow. He's upset as he thinks Ariel can't compete with all the other girls, not without her voice! He goes to sleep with her, scared and hopeful for tomorrow. King Triton is also thinking about Ariel... where is she? Was it because he had a good at her and recked her cove she's gone?
Eric finally throws away his search for the voice and chooses Ariel, and discovers he's in love with her, with or without the voice. Then, he hears the voice he's been searching for....
This is how I've always pictured how this would look in the movie, if it were in the film.... anyway, I hope you enjoy :)
I'm sorry it's all gone weird... my editing progamme has mucked up I'm afraid and I didn't realise until posting!
