new clip of a better looking version here:

This pedal contains a GGG GRO circuit and a BYOC confidence boost circuit. When the footswitch turns the pedal on, the Green Ringer is always activated. A toggle switch activates the boost. There is also a 10k pot, wired as a variable resistor in line with the 9v going to the Green Ringer. In addition, there is a feedback loop between the input and output of the pedal. In the feedback loop is a 250k pot, wired as a variable resistor. A toggle switch in the feedback loop puts two diodes in series with the loop. The diodes are a 1n34 and a 1n914 wired in parallel, polarities opposite.

  • I want to make one of these! Tell me if this is the right block diagram:

[Feedback Loop ] > Green Ringer > [Feedback Loop] > Boost

    ?

  • @pswoods That is basically it. You can really use any basic boost circuit. I wired the voltage sag pot to only affect the ringer circuit, because if you really drop the voltage, you lose a lot of output, but you can get it back with the boost.

  • How is it possible to have an feedback loop going and be playing your instrument at the same time? what is the signal chain? sorry if that's a dumb question

  • @michaelianblack69

Engaging the FB Loop does not cut off the input signal. Also, the feedback loop has a 250K pot in series, wired as a variable resistor, so that one can vary the amount of feedback. When the feedback is turned up all the way, it tends to kill the input, but at medium and lower settings you get both, and they interact.

In this clip, I think I was only using guitar>pedal>amp.

  • this thing is BADASS. what do the diodes in the feedback loop do exactly?

  • They are just clipping diodes, wired opposite polarity, back to back between the signal and ground. I might have put a resistor in series with them.

  • Very original sound- did you come up with the idea of having a feedback loop with a boost and the GRinger?

  • @sicherheit Cool thanks. I ordered the parts from Mouser to make one with the Tillman preamp as the booster.

  • @michaelianblack69

In essence, the signal is fed to the output jack, as normal, but also simultaneously wired back to the start of the circuit you're looping. Some circuits don't suit the approach and you end up with squeal and mush, others, like here, sound great. Good job sicherheit!

  • @sicherheit thanks, that helps

  • That is one wicked pedal bro. I gotta figure out how you did that.
