Moulin a Cafe-Hot Antic Jazz Band 2004
In 2004 cornettist Michel Bastide, banjoist Jean Pierre Dubois and tubaist Christian Lefevre celebrated the 25th anniversary of their Hot Antic Jazz Band. In this concert in Nimes, France they invited pianist Stephane Matthey and clarinettist Jean Francois Bonnel to join them for this tune.
Both guests had been members of the band in the eighties and nineties.
Michel explains that they brought the house with this tune down during their Carnegie Hall performance in New York in 1987. It is a surprise to see them play this unknown Sidney Bechet composition after an absence of so many years. Vive Bonnel and Matthey and the Hot Antics!
