and if that stuff is removing the melonite(the finish) you might want to stop.

Putting a penny in salt and vinegar really makes it shine, but thats because it removes some of the metal.

First how to video Jitters. It doesn't remove the finish. It removes all protectants and oils. I have since stopped using it.

Too expensive not because of damage.

my aunt uses WD-40 on her smith&wesson 9mm.

I have since learned it is ok to use it. But certainly not a recommend lube for guns.

Something to do with wear of the barrel. It is usually in the manual. But to be honest I not 100% sure. I have questioned the samething.

what is the benefit of getting an aftermarket spring and the other piece (metal tube)?

No need for those fancy spray cans. Auto sprays are fine. Use WD40 and auto or boat oil and grease.

I like the videos, but brake cleaner isn't the best idea. A lot of brake cleaners, especially the cheaper ones, have a tendency to dry out and crack polymers and plastics over time. Some of the chlorinated brake cleaners will discolor plastics and polymers. In other words, use something that is made for gun cleaning.

Great videos! How do you feel about conversion barrels(9mm) are with the gun? I have seen a couple of different after market conversion barrels however I was told that aftermarket arent the best quality and werent recomended for my new gun. The idea was to have it for cheaper 9 mm ammo for plinking but I am afraid to pay 150 for a conversion barrel and it ultimately hurt my gun?!? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

spray some brake cleaner on metal parts and wipe them off with a rag

use brake cleaner + boresnake for the barrel

slide glide grease on metal friction parts

i've been using it on my xd-9 service and it ate the white dots out of the sights..great to use just not on the slide
