Roy Beck Testifies Before Congress Urging a Suspension to Most Immigration

NumbersUSA President Roy Beck testified before a Congressional Forum on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, urging them to push legislation that would suspend most legal immigration into the United States. While hundreds of thousands of Americans lose their jobs every month in the current recession, the government continues to issue 75,000 permanent work permits each month.

There are now millions of Americans who are jobless. One of the big factors is the bloated NUMBERS of legal & illegal immigrants arriving in America since the huge liberalization in 1990. There are roughly 40 million immigrants (and their children) swelling the population numbers just in the past two decades. These bloated numbers drive down wages in almost all fields while increasing the costs of the necessaries of life. Roy Beck's prescription for an immigration time out = A huge improvement!

Many college grads with tec degrees cann't find a job in their field. At the same Bill Gates is firing programmers he asks for more H-2 visas to get more!

My family members does painting, low end factory work and personal care in nursing homes- We do "those jobs Americans won't do".

I think this whole country needs a good cleaning out. There are too many foreigners bleeding this country to death with all the free bees. The Americans who really need help are getting nothing.

My son and his wife have paid taxes in the USA for over 30 years. They are about to be homeless and can not get any help from the government what so ever. This is what is left of the American dream. It sadens me, what do I tell my grand children we have all worked all of our lives, now unemployed.

"Corporations have used the government and media as instruments to destroy the US labor movement" Yes, but you can not reconcile their thirst for cheap immigrant labor and the idea that limits on immigration are "racist" Are all the unemployed white? Consider black unemployment rates....Is it fair that they compete with Indian and Chinese "minorities"
