Art Deco Ball on the RMS Queen Mary, part of the Art Deco Festival 2009. Dean Mora & his Orchestra played while everyone danced and dined in the first class dining room on board. Damon Kirsche is the crooner singing "Somewhere at Sea", a song made famous by Henry Hall who wrote the song and performed it for the maiden voyage of the Queen Mary. Enjoy this trip back in time! There are a few other pieces played by the big band. In between the dances are some shots of the ship.
And this is why my wedding reception has to be on the Queen Mary one day.

You should come Maxobillion! It is a fabulous party. It does look not very crowded, but that room was designed to hold 800 people having a sit down dinner, it is vast. There were easily over 150 people at the Ball, And over 300 attend the 3 day festival!

I am thinking about attending this event but it doesn't look like there is much of a turnout. Are they getting more and more popular?

Simply wonderful to see people enjoying themselves like this on the QUEEN MARY. She really comes alive during events like this, and period clothes and music really give a great impression of what it was like to sail on the great ship in her heyday. Thanks for posting this video!
