a beautiful song from mr. colin hay, a magnificent artist and songwriter. I first heard this song, as many people did, on the soundtrack to the movie Garden State. its just amazing and I hope you enjoy. I thought the audio came out particularly well in this one.

I just don't think I'll ever get over you.colin hay

I drink good coffee every morning.
it comes from a place that's far away.
and when I'm done I feel like talking.
without you here, there is less to say

I don't want you thinking I'm unhappy
what is closer to the truth
is that if I lived till I was a hundred and two
I just don't think I'll ever get over you

I'm no longer moved to drink strong whiskey
cos I shook the hand of time and I knew
that if I lived till I could no longer climb my stairs
I just don't think I'll ever get over you

your face it dances and it haunts me
laughter still ringing in my ears
I still find pieces of your presence here
even..even after all these years.

I don't want you thinking that I don't get asked to dinner
cos all I have to say that I sometimes do
and even though I may soon feel the touch of love
I just don't think I'll ever get over you

yes, if I lived till I was a hundred and two
I just don't think I'll ever get over you.

  • This reminded me sooo much of "Never Think" by Robert Pattinson...the guitar chords especially. Very beautiful!

  • :) thankyou

  • I think I might be in love with you.

  • Would you be bale to tab what youve done or tell me the chords? I love this version.

  • ...wonderful performance, Dave !

  • hi Dave! Sounds great. Do any of the brothers play guitar besides you? I bought an acoustic guitar and was going to take lessons from the music store. All I can play right now is ode to joy and a few other beginner songs, and like the C and G7 chord (not very fast either!) lol.

  • Awesome dave! Your voice has really grown, I love it! I miss you already btw! :)
