Nice helicopter and goog flight !!!
-
heli engines are better able for the job than car ones, the car ones are very easy to over heat, heli and plane ones are well air cooled, by a fan in the heli and prop and fast movement through air in plane,

M8 dont forget rc car engines rev twice as much as heli engines, helis dont really need much power too fly therefore they last forever really they do about !15k rpm tops i think nitro cars do 30k +.

very good flight, and as for the weather, i know exactly what you mean being in ireland here

yes i know what you mean ( weather )
the only way is to go bigger.
little helis are twitchy and get small very quick when flying.
plus wind has a great effect on them.
bigger heavier is the way to go.
cheers for comment

beautiful looking machine, i bet putting that together cost you of a huge wedge of beer tokens !
im seriously tempted by nitro but ive ran a few cars and even with careful tuning and running in they still chew the pistons and cylinders a bit too fast, are the heli engines as fragile ?

yes you do have a point with car engines, but helicopter engines are designed for the job.
they are very very reliable, plus the bigger % of nitro helps. my old raptor 30 had done alot of work and was still 100% when i sold it. they also have a permanent cooling fan attached to them.
