merging with 70mph traffic

RT2 has NO merge lane. You have to hit the speed limit gettin on or you're done.

This is the proper way to merge. No stopping. Nobody ELSE has to slow down for you. You don't cause an accident.

That is the problem. On beltway in DC (I -495) these type of drivers are offered tickets. The mere objection is that people slow down but other rules such as blinkers and looking left and behind properly must be followed. Increasing speed on ramp doesn't mean that you got automatic merge space rather for those so called "IDEAL AMERICAN MERGE" you got to have a lengthy ramp with enough width to do that. Here ramp width is so bad the minute ramp white line merges your mirror touches passing car
