WOW. I always thought of John Denver as just a wimpy country singer, but he really rocks out here on this fine Welsh folk song. Great 12 string work too.

@RicardosRealm You should check out his song "The Eagle And The Hawk" then. The vocal work on that one is even more intense.

it bothers me when people refer to John as a wimp or a pussy. besides his great work on the 12 in this vid, he was a man with empathy for his fellow human beings. sure he drank a little too much now and again but his heart was always in pain for some reason or another. It hurt him when nature was destroyed, it hurt him when children cried in hunger. It takes a real man to let the world know he can feel for others, that makes him an idol to me, for we share the same beliefs.

Any person who has had the pleasure of seeing JD live will know that not only was he one of the world's finest singers but also one the best ever guitarist. There are few artist's who can play a 12 string guitar in this way.

God Bless John Denver

John Denver was a friend of mine, and this was my favorite of the songs he did. (I've even played that same wonderful Guild 12-String.) He seldom got to show what he could do with a guitar like he does in this video. Thanks for the memories, and RIP, dear John!

@RicardosRealm The Lyrics are by a welsh poet, but the song itself is by the American Pete Seeger, therefore it's and American song.
Thank you for this.
