  • Oh the joys of Courtois alternative fingering! Great playing though!

  • You da man Aled (Mr Williams)!!! Lwcus iawn i gael chi fel athro! Gan Mabon (a Billy).

  • Bloody hell this guy can play. He's certainly in the league of serious players. Wow.

  • Brilliant

  • best euph player, and the best rally navigator.ive known, could do with some help in the lower register!!!only joking aledcacen!!

  • I´m sorry I thought you where a pro and I have seen a bunch of guys commenting David Childs videos that they like you better and well thats a compliment I would say.

Read my first comment as a respons to the claim that you are better than Mr Childs cause thats how I wrote it.

You are a really good player and with the info u gave me there I would say that its really good for a amatuer to play like that!

My first comment doesnt do u justice so I´ll delete it. I compared u with the greatest...

  • its a stock courtois c2002 with a stock trigger and whitchever mouthpiece came with it . just to clarify a few points .I personally DON'T proffess to beeing better than anyone ,especially Mr Childs.I play euph for a bit of fun . after all , i'm just an ordinary guy with no formal musical teaching(apart from band and school). . so i think overall it wasn't too bad - for an electrician.maybe i should start practicing. keep you're comments coming, maybe how to improve my sound .

  • I´m not saying that he cant play. I´m just saying that he is a long way from David Childs and many other great euphoniumplayers. But thats all based on this performance cause I havent heard any other been played by him. and i havent heard him in person which also tends to change what you think of euphoniumplayers. Much of the sound just cant be recorded for some reason so recordings never sounds like the real thing.

Does he have the courtoi with trigger on first valve or have he altered it?

  • Ah ok yes i have played on Courtois so i know how they sound and I didnt like it at all. But some euphplayers like to have a thinner sound (unbelievable but true).

i dont think he´s better than I imagine cause I have played for Nick and Bob childs (been conducted by not private lessons yet) so i know what level those guys are on. The mistakes that David does on the recordings I´ve heard just for some reason passes by without notice but this guy makes to much mistakes and it disturbes the piece

  • it's thin because he's playing on a Courtois, and a small bore euph. Ever tried playing any kind of Courtois Euph!?. They're all so tight it's murder. His first phrase is off, but i wouldn't say the rest are...Yes he makes mistakes, but so does Dave Childs!! Everyone does. He's not as good as Dave childs, but he's still better than you i can imagine!
