At the truffle festival in Uzes, France there was a truffle hunting demonstration. This hunter and his keeper have always worked together. The keeper says that Pigs are cheaper than dogs because you can feed them your leftovers. He also does not eat any of his truffle hunting pigs. Not sure who the guy and the pig are, but they are famous because they were on the fliers and brochures.

Pigs are also useful for finding bombs.

It's actually better to let lagotto dogs hunt for truffles because they will not eat the truffles that they find :-)
