They seem to be picked based on their republican credentials rather than their ability to form and debate policy. Take John O'dowd for example, minister for education of all things. @larryboyhere More justified situation!! The british governments position in 1916 was that the irish could have limited self-government. In the late 60's onwards it was that they would withdraw if that's what the majority of people in NI wanted. The insurgents of 1916 had much more justification for their actions than the PIRA

@larryboyhere Ireland , a beautiful idea, a dream of fairness and equality, however in reality ,a shame and an embarrasment. We allow a gang to give away our national resources, we allow them to give away our sovereignty, we allow them to lie constently, we allow them to over tax , over rule and rule over our lives. What is it to be Irish now, it used to be a people who would never give in , now its just another word for slave.
