The Indigenous people from the Tayrona culture in Colombia refer to themselves as "The Elder Brother" and believe they live at the Heart of the World. They are being fumigated by Glyphosate - Roundup®. This fumigation practice, used as a weapon in the War on Drugs, has been contaminating the land and displacing people throughout Colombia and other parts of South America for decades. The "Elder Brother" asks you to help to end this scourge on the Natural World. The Global Commission on Drug Policy has declared the War on Drugs a failure. Join up and support the wide spectrum of US organizations working to build the political will to make one of the key policy changes of our time. The Indigenous peoples of Colombia and the world will be enormously grateful to you for taking action.

  • Thank you for thanking me - War is war, whether it be violence against people or the Earth. The Western culture of war and violence (a sacrosanct topic) has overtaken the world, leaving all the peaceful peoples of the world defenseless. It is heartbreaking to witness the culture of violence destroying cultures of peace - whether it be violence against people, the natural world, or simple anger in our daily lives. He hit the proverbial nail on the head. May peace prevail!

  • Powerful message, beautiful people... what an important and complex adventure you lived, dear Shannyn. Obrigada from Natal, Brazil.

  • Thank you Shannyn, for this beautiful and powerful statement.

I suggest you excerpt the wise and loving words about anger (at around 6 minutes in) and broadcast those as a standalone piece. They are not just about the war on drugs; they are wisdom for every moment of our lives.

Thank you for bringing this message, and these beautiful faces and voices and music to us. It has already made a difference.
