Shelbyville Works! presents a message about the Shelbyville High School Work Ethics for Success program. One more of the many great things about Shelbyville!

Career & Work Ethics is a junior and senior level course designed to encourage students to reflect upon the career paths for which they are best suited and to develop a clear plan of action to help them achieve their career goals. Students will research those careers and related careers to determine what the requirements are to enter those fields, as well as to determine the best pathway available to them. Students will also learn about many other aspects of their chosen field, including expected salary ranges, opportunities available, and current events. Students will also have the opportunity to job shadow a professional in their chosen field.
The course will also focus on the 10 Work Ethics for Success. These work ethics, also called soft skills, are areas that employers have determined are essential for success in the workplace, regardless of the chosen field. A major emphasis of the course is community involvement and volunteerism.
