  • Are there versions that have more triplets? Or is it that the "3" isn't readable everywhere on my screen?

  • Brahms wrote the Clarinet Sonatas, Clarinet Trio, and the Quintet for Clarinet and Strings after he met and heard clarinetist, Richard Mühlfield, so it's not really fair or accurate to say the viola version is the original. Brahms did arrange parts for both versions, though.
