  • Becky = Rubber cement

    Kipkay = Soldering

    Some people just have their speciality

  • Becky knows how to solder too, watch the Twitchie Scorpion video!

  • very cool project Becky! is not so expensive as everybody think, at a hobby store, i saw copper sheets 3 times bigger, at 5€, so, i don't know where's the problem of it. Also a little question, instad of using silver wire, you can use solder and solder the veins to the copper heart? this way you save some cement and i guess that silver wire is also expensive, i don't know.

    Well, say to your friend, that gets well from my part ;)

  • Yeah, but to solder such a big piece of copper, you need an acetylene torch. Since this is an introductory video, I wanted to show how you could get started without a huge equipment investement!

  • Could you draw on the etched copper with some lead free solder? That would be cool.

  • Yes, in fact filling the etched recesses with solder is another metalworking technique, it results in a neat two-tone effect. I don't have an acetylene torch to pull it off, though! =]
