Nice...hear the strobes...was this 182 wasn't Turbocharged was it (wondering how long it took to get to 13999)? Did you'll have oxygen in the plane anyway or just keep it under 30min? Have any idea the size of the engine..235,250,300?

It was not turbo. I don't recall exactly, but my guess we were doing about 200fpm towards the end. This was in spring, so density altitude was high. No O2 in the plane. I was living in ABQ at the time, so was acclimated high elevations. We routinely flew +10k. In fact I tried climbing to 13500 the other day with a pulse oximeter (after living at low elevation for 7 years), and my O2 saturation dropped precipitously and started to feel dizzy.
