  • awesome

  • Also, the Ma Bu and Deng Shan Bu are form stances for most of the western martial arts, or interpretation of Chinese forms to the west. With the "bob and weave" or flailing street fight idiocy the average person on the street applies, they seem very unwieldy. When fighting another person utilizing a similair style, they are not as bad as you would think.

Also, in western teachings, they are used more for practice of form than actual application.

  • as long as you know how to apply it .. like a horse stance can be an intro to a bow and arm to a lunging hit.. and standing with legs twisted.. and one legged strikes.. if she knows how to move from those stances unconsciously to defend herself shes good.. i like horse stance or empty step stance throw.. and that almost every cha,ber can be a grapple shes good

  • but it wont help you on the streets.

  • Wow! You go girl! =O

  • I agree with oneinchpunch987, the form is too square, but you don't move like a robot. and I bet you won't remember the form.
