My grandfather and I use to go up to the black mountains(part of the Appalachian's) in Eastern Kentucky and dig for Ginseng in the early 70's. He would sell it to the local stores in town. They were much bigger than this one. Some of them were 5-8 inches long. The stuff was all over the place. I wonder if that area still has a bunch????
freedompundit you have know idea of what you are talking about. it does not take 350 roots unless you are digging one and two prongs, in that case you are not a true ginsang hunter. on top of that you dont know about the soil were sang grows by your clay comment. if i new were your so called sang patch was i would dig every plant you had and you wouldnt know it untill it was to late. go back in your tralier. you and your gun what a joke.
It takes about 350 roots to make a pound. If you don't have them all planted in one place, that's a lot of hunting. Soil in TN woods is like concrete and rocks.
If I catch you digging my plants, I will quickly exercise my second ammendment rights!
