  • why are people arguing about what words best describe this performance?....it's an individual experience...nobody here knew Beethoven.

  • @pappataci85 It is not "arguing", it is "studying or analyzing" this basic work. I find the comments highly instructive. And it is fun and active participation!

  • wow really dignified performance

  • Congratulations!! "Dignified" is a very accurate description!

  • hello, i am writing on my boyfriends account to set things straight. firstly, i wouldn't go for robotic so much as boring and unenthusiastic. the violin should be played for pleasure not to get the notes right. If you play like you love it then it will always sound better than perfect notes on their own. Who in the general public would notice a few mistakes? just enjoy the experien

  • Disagree!

This violin concerto is highly "spiritual" or mystic work.

    Should be introspective, meditative.

  • you guys are terribly mean to the soloist just cuz he doesnt bend in a million ways while playing does not mean he isnt putting all his emotion into the piece let the instrument do the expressing and if you listen he is playing the piece beautifully close your eyes and just listen it doesnt sound like hes playing like a robot hes preforming to give you good music not to dance and i think he accomplished that

  • @YTM021807 i actually met him several times. he likes to be called lewis and is just an awfully nice guy. he LOVES mac and cheese.

  • thanks for posting this interesting performance

  • It's not him who lacks emotion, it's the orchestra

  • What would professor Auer have to say about this performance?

  • Yes it's leisurely played and wonderful all round performance!
