In Part 2 of E-Day's "Keeping It Real" film Jon Plowman, the former head of BBC Comedy, continues to explain how real-time energy saving displays work and, in his own unique way, covers some of the pros and cons of the different designs of device that are available in the UK.

Real-time displays wirelessly collect information on how much electricity homes are using and how much this is costing.

It has been found that homes which know how much they are spending are able to cut their electricity use by 10% - 20%.

Depending on the size of house, a 10% saving on electricity bills equates to at least £60 - £90 per year, whilst a 20% saving equates to £120 - £180 per year.

This film was made for E-Day 2009 which will be taking place on the Isles of Scilly on Tuesday October 6th 2009.

  • unfunny and a waste of time, people aren't using their time to watch and review energy saving devices for laughs (and you weren't funny just annoying) and it was hard to understand which one worked best to save money, also taking into account the cost etc. Muppet.
