@tlbruffy Your tears were not in vain. He rose from the ashes. Thanks to your belief

It's good to know that neither the actors nor Roddenberrry were happy with Star Trek: The Motion Picture. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it really sucked.

The NCC 1701 will always be the most beautiful ship with the name "Enterprise."

@texasghost Yes I am aware of that, this happened to be a break through performance.

Shatner was already established in movies and tv long before Star Trek.

This movie really showcased the cast's true acting prowess, especially for Shatner and Nimoy

Not like David Coverdale looked pretty old to me as a teenager in '87 (I was 16, he was only 36; and I still don't look as old as he did then). Because in Star Trek they were playing adult roles, doing adult things. Of course, you have to remember that Kirk was an Admiral here.

Then I learned that he came back.....

@sapphiresteddibear I fourteen right, so I'm still pretty new to Star Trek, but I still consider myself a trekkie. Since I'm new I was on youtube checking out random scenes, when on the side panel I saw something about Spock dying, I laughed it off, but clicked the video just to see. I watched the video, then my eyes started watering, my sister is like "Why are you crying?" Then when I go to explain all I get out was "He's Spock, and he's dying." Then I sobbed like a baby, I felt horrible.

@gothatway09 I know what you mean. I was watching The Unforgiven for the forst time since it came out in 92 and Clint eastwood looked quite young. I remember watching it in 92 and thought he looked ancient. He does look ancient now though.
I cried like a baby when Spock died.

Maybe they should have done a later movie called "KATRA IN THE RYE!"
