This was during the period in the '50s and early '60s when theater owners tried to compete with television for their movie patrons' attention: Spike Jones and his "Band That Plays For Fun" [he dropped his group's original "City Slickers" name the year before] make a March 1956 personal appearance, promising "new routines...none of them will be on TV"; a 1955 "subscription ticket" offer that enabled the patron to see four films any time they wished within a three month period at a bargain...

An impressive collection--where did you get these?
I was born in Madison in 1963, so some of these are a bit before my time, but I remember all of those theaters.
Funny story... I grew up n Madison. My friend Joe Marx from Monroe showed up one day with a hoard of film and left it on my front porch. Gotta love yer friends.
