A basic introduction to Drupal's Ubercart e-commerce shopping cart module, and what kinds of things you can do with the system. Some of the items I cover in this Ubercart video are products, taxonomy, lightbox (with products), product classes, shipping and shipping zones, payment options, order management/tracking, coupons and discounts, taxes, stock settings and user roles. The video isn't meant to be exhaustive in terms of modules and features but rather a basic introduction to those looking into building or having an e-commerce shopping cart built. So sit back, relax and you'll start to see how powerful Ubercart really is.

  • excellent video! Can you please inform how did you integrate lightbox and image uploading feature in ubercart?

  • @docut85 Lightbox2 is the name of the module that can be used to achieve the light box pop up effect. To decide which images get the effect applied to it, you end up having the ability to choose images that contain a certain css class, etc. I don't think I covered file uploading in this video but if I remember correctly, it's just a matter of using filefield so that you get a cck field with the ability to upload files to it.

  • I can't find out where to configure shipping zones. Is there a particular module being used for this configuration?

  • You will need to use the uc_flatrate module and create your flat rates as desired. Then assign conditions to the flat rates, say flat rate # 1 is used for customer billing address states of California and Arizona only, while flat rate # 2 gets Nevada, etc. Then on each product you can set individual dollar amounts per each flat rate. Then at checkout the customer enters their billing state and finally the total will automatically include the appropriate flat rate on the given product(s).

  • great video, what plugin are you suing for the top admin drop down bar?

  • the module is called "administration menu"
