Well, the best squatter in Norway (405kg - IPF), uses a high bar style, and so does many other good lifters. It is just a matter of doing it, and then you will be beck to the usual weights in no time. :) I also use a high bar position. No stress on shoulders and arms, and depth is easily hit. :) It was only a suggestion. :) Keep training hard. :)

nice lifts there, when was the last time you attempted a 1rm and what were your pr's then?
i notice you have an aggressive lean on the squats. is that easier for you and are your femurs also very long? cant really tell since u got a drumstick there for thighs

Thanks, man. The meet I did at the end of February was the last time and I hit 400/275/545, but that was 20lbs lighter, at 181.
In short, I'm not sufficiently stronger than I was last year. Trying to keep the same bodyweight doesn't help.
The thighs need to get bigger...namely the hams and glutes!

And yes, the forward lean is a product of long femurs and a low bar position on the back.

your deadlifts are super. I think it would be easier for you to hit depth in the squat if you used a high bar position. :)

Thanks, Per.
You're right about the depth, but I think it'd also make the weight harder to lift. :-)

Thanks, but it hasn't come along as fast as I'd like.
